I have a 997c SI fish finder combo. I purchased the XM NavWeather receiver. The main unit keep showing it to be connected when I first turn on the unit. But after a few minutes it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every couple of minutes. Is there a fix for this problem? Everything is connected and working fine except for the Navweather. Here is a List of what I have connected to the head unit - 997c SI AS GR50GPS Receiver XSI HSK Side Imaging High Speed Transducer Kit HS 9 HDSI 180 T Transom Mount Transducer AS RSL Wireless Sonar Link AS BPWeatherSense® Barometric Pressure Monitor SI HSK Side Imaging High Speed Transducer Kit AS WX 1XM Satellite Weather Receiver

Make sure that you are running the latest version software (4.510) in your 997.
Check all connections to make sure that they are fully plugged in.
Try unplugging the AS-RSL wireless Sonar Link.
Test someone else’s 997 or 1197 unit on your boat to see if it will work more consistently.

I have the updated software installed 4.510 and have activated navweather with XM. I then purchase a AS RSL Wireless Sonar Link unit. When first connected with everything else, it does the something as the XM unit. So I tried connecting one accessory at a time to the com link cable. Everything works good until I connect the XM Weather unit. At which point it and the Wireless Sonar keep disconnecting and reconnecting about every couple of minutes, But the BP WeatherSense and GPS don't lose communication. When I disconnect the XM unit and keep it unconnected, then restart the head unit everything appears to work fine, Including the wireless sonar. The XM unit was mounted 6' away from the head unit. I've then removed the XM unit from the boat and tried it as far as the 20' cord could reach to see if it was to close to the head unit and it keeps disconnecting. Even when it is hooked up alone to the unit with only the GPS connected.

I don’t have a lot of experience with the WX-1, but if it is still disconnecting from the unit when only it and the GPS Receiver is connected than I suspect that the problem is in the WX-1 (since other accessories do not seem to have this problem). I would call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and see about getting it fixed. 1-800-633-1468

Countach22, I know exactly what your problem is, because I did the same thing.
The AS-RSL is not compatible with either the 997 or 1197, and it wipes out other accessories that are connected at the same time.
In my case it was the HA GPS receiver.
I have asked in another forum what the reason was for not having compatibility with HB's top of the line equipment, maybe I'll get an answer here?

This was a decision made by those who decide such things. I do not know why the As-RSL is not supported in these units other than possibly that it is not that big of a seller for us.

The AS-RSL wireless Sonar Link works fine. The problem is with the AS WX 1XM Satellite Weather Receiver. When I connect XM unit I start to have connection problems.
-
It could be that the 997 cannot source enough current to run both the AS-RSL and the XM Nav Weather modules at the same time. Test it again without the AS-RSL being plugged up.

WSL or RSL will not work with the last 997c software which supports WX1... my bet is that it is a mix of issues that is key around software.
My recommendation loose the RSL (which is the WSL) and try it out for a day.
WX1 take some time to load... 20-30 mins sometimes.
