Title: computer not recognizeing memory card
Post by: great pappy cat on June 21, 2009, 03:47:05 PM
My computer is not recognizeing my 4gb san disc extreme 3 memory card. When I plug it into the USB port, I go into "my computer" and  its not showing a removeable drive f. Its not the card reader Im useing.  If I put my camera memory card in. It shows the drive and I can transfer data?  I took the card back out to my unit and the files are still on the card? It always worked before thats why Im a little confused??  I did recently have a computer crash. Im still restoreing files and software. Maybe Im missing something I had before? Can any one tell me why my computer wont read the card?? I apolagize if this is a dumb question? :-[ I not a computer guy, Im a fisherman.  Nothing is ever easy  :(

Most common problem is the Card Reader is not SDHC compatible.  It will read 2GB or less SD Cards, but 4GB cards are SDHC format not the standard SD format.

But you said you had used the 4gb card with the reader before? Correct?

The reader ususally will have the SDHC logo on it like the one on the Extreme III SD Card if it is SDHC compatible.
