Title: 997 Bootup Problem
Post by: jlundadt on March 25, 2011, 07:50:31 PM
Just got my 997 back from HB repair (had anti-glare recoated) and hooked it back up...now, it just reboots over and over at different times, (within seconds).  Sometimes it will go all the way into normal operation, then back to loading screen...

Very frustrated as it was working perfect BEFORE I sent it to HB.  Anyone know if there is a reset of some sort that needs to be done when repowering?  I have tried everything.  Voltage reads 12+

jlundadt,

Welcome to the forum.  Man that would be frustrating.

You could try the bootstrap method to get it back, but you will need the PC connect cable.  Or you could try to put in an SD card with an update on it and see if it will recognise it before it goes into the reboot death cycle!  If it does, just follow the prompts to do the update.  You can then reinstall the latest update again and see if the issue goes away.

Good Luck,

Robert

Thanks for replying...

What I can't figure out is is was working fine before I sent it off for repair.  Had even upgraded to v5.320 with no issues, and now this.

I was thinking I would try to go BACK to a previous software version, just to see what would happen, as long as it wouldn't "reboot" while I'm trying.  I will mention that while messing with it, I got into a menu what I could only describe as a DOS looking menu...actually, not sure me messing with it did that or it just coincidentally appeared, but, the only way to get out was to power down...uuuuuuugh!

Hi jlundadt,

looks like your unit is locked up. I wrote something about how to get it unlocked here:

I hope this helps and good luck
