I have my transducer mounted to my trolling motor. My trolling motor is a Power Drive with I Pilot which uses the remote . I have the unit mounted in the front of the boat. When I am largemouth bass fishing I have the chart speed set to 1 which is about the same speed that I am moving. The problem is when ever I move the trolling motor the graph has to redraw and I get the line. I tried changing the chart speed to 10 so it would redraw much quicker. It seems like this was working fine, maybe even better because I could turn the trolling motor different directions to look at other structure. What are the drawbacks from having the scan speed set so high? Thanks for any suggestions.

Turning the trolling motor with respect to the boat line is similar to what ice fisherman do in the rotating mounts made to poke thru the hole to look around. Maybe some of these guys can say more...
It does give a different look.
I have several times used the turning motion to look at an area that we could not drive the boat into...
