Title: Interference
Post by: Sigler on February 20, 2011, 08:06:29 PM
Ok I raised my motor and still had this orange bar. The bracket is mounted on the driver side of the boat 15 inches just like they say in the instruction, could it be catching the left corner of the boat? That is all I could think it could be.

Sigler,

It is possible.  We need better pictures.  Your images are coming out very small.

What are you using to take the pictures?  Are you cropping them down or changing the image size?

You can upload pictures up to 1200 pixels wide.

Todd,

It was nice talking with you today.  The first two picts came thru ok, but the last two are scaled down!

But clear enough to show that you are getting turbulence from the step on the transom.

Good Luck,

Robert

Easy way to tell if it is turbulence is to let the boat drift with the motor off.  If the orange bar goes away than it is turbulence, if not than it is something physically blocking part of the left Si sonar.  Yours looks more like turbulence due to its more erratic appearance.

I dfid not see this in the pictures but something else to consider is live well intake or exhust.  If either is close to the transducer it will or can cause turblence.
