Title: 898 next update ?

I am just curious when the next 898 update is coming out and what might be on that.

I really would like to see the info added to the update so we have a choice either on the left side or bottom.

Also, why aren't the update the same for the 898, 997 and 1197 units ?

They all are the same unit....correct but with different size screens ?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.  I know I'm not the only one who wants these updates added.

No, each unit is different.  They may perform the same functions, but because of little differences in production (processors, PCB changes, etc) the software for each unit is proprietary.  Especially with the changes from the XX7 to XX8 series of HB units.  They actually use a new OS for the newer units.

A good comparison would be the bios for your computer.  Just because computer A, B and C run Windows 7, or other software doesnt mean they are the same.  The motherboards and components that make it work may be very different.  The bios is just the same as the updates from HB and is what talks with the Hardware to make it work.

No one knows for sure when an update is going to be released, except of course for the Software engineers at HB.  Every now and then they have let us know that updates will be coming shortly but no specific date is ever set.

And as to what will be in the update is of course only known by them as well!  We can only hope the changes we request are implemented.

I really like the idea of being able to move the data fields around and hope it will be done.  But as of right now there is no word as to wen or if this will happen.

Thanks and yes, this did help.  I just hope they make those changes I requested because I would imagine most folks would agree with me on those.
