Title: 728 to 898si Interlink issue
Post by: gibsond on January 30, 2011, 05:18:16 PM
I just purchased the 898si unit and I have a 728 up front. I had an Interlink installed to connect them together. when I turned on the 898 it said the 728 had to be upgraded to work with it. I upgrade the 728 to 4.960, I think that's the SW ver. Now my 728 has alot of trash on the screen, the depth will freak out and go to 400 and 600 ft, it will show alot of fish and hang up. I have to restart it to get it to work right and that only last for a few minutes. The 898si still says the software on the 728 is not compatiable to use Interlink. Anyone seen this before?

There have been issues with software versions between units with Ethernet connections and the older units without an Ethernet connection. A newer unit with version 5.210 currently will not communicate through Interlink  with an older unit with version 4.9xx software.
