Title: 788ci HD DI or just the 788ci HD
Post by: jimf on January 19, 2011, 04:26:05 PM
I have the 997 c si and I have only auto sensitity in the side scan and down scan not the 2D mode ( Old LCD look)
What I like to know I want to get a front 788ci HD DI or a 788ci HD if it has auto sensitiy in the 2d mode.

I think the down image has auto sensity but dos any of the  (788ci HD DI  OR 788ci HD untis) have auto in the 2 d mode ?  Looks like you have 0 to 20 sensity and defult is 10. But I like to know dos it have auto also ? I don't want to keep changing it every time I go deep to shallow water.

Thanks
JIM

There is no “Auto” setting for the 2D sonar sensitivity.  However, the unit does automatically change internal settings when going deeper or shallower.  The Sensitivity menu itself does not change the actual sensitivity of the unit; rather it just allows the user to bias the amount of information that the units receives and displays.  You want to see smaller sonar returns or show smaller sonar returns as larger sonar returns?  Than set the Sensitivity menu higher.  If you only want to see the stronger sonar returns?  Set the Sensitivity menu lower.
