Title: Will 789c work with the Navionics Platinum cards

Just curious if this will work at all.

Think that you mean the 798c unit there RPJ.
The answer is both “Yes” and “No”.  Yes in that you will be able to see the maps and depth contours but no in that the special features, that the Platinum cards have over the Premium mapping cards, will not work.  Save your money and buy a Premium mapping card instead.

What I am really trying to find out is something that I already know that the Premium maps will not provide for me. I have the premium maps already and Lakes Hartwell, and Keowee here in the northwest corner of South Carolina do not show the creek or river channel routes in them. This is important to me and I would probably give up some features to attain this. What I really need is for someone to check these lakes that has Platinum maps to see what shows up for the creeks and river channels. Then I can make a decision about purchasing.
