When recording in the Snap Shot & Recording view, should a thumbnail of the recording appear when I begin recording in that view so I can see what is being recorded and decide when I need to stop recording or do I have to move to another view to watch the progress eg: sonar view? Is there something I haven't done on the original setup? Mark

When recording, all data is recorded. You can pick any view you want during the recording. SI, DI, in both frequencies (800,900,1100 units) 2D in both frequencies and GPS data is all recorded.
When you play back a recording on the unit or with a software like HumViewer, you can choose whichever view you want and switch between views, even the multi view screens. During recording, you can push the menu key in any view and get the "stop recording" choice.
On the snapshot/recording view, you will just get a timer for the length of the recording.
After you have recorded, you basically have the same thing as the Simulator, but you have created it with your own location data.

Cheers Wayne, for some reason I thought you'd have a real time recording/ thumbnail on the bottom of the screen while your in the recording mode. Like when you do a snapshot which appears straight away but as a video so you don't have to change views!
