The line that shows up on my SI images also shows up on the regular depthfinder look. It is totally blacked out all the way down to 5 feet. Does yours do this or is that interference? How can I fix it?

On the 2D view, it looks typical for the 83/200 khz or just the 83 khz setting when in shallow water.
On the SI view, it looks like you have a Skeeter bass boat that the SI beams are reflecting off the sponsons and making the line on each side in the center line with a double echo on the left side.

Both definately look as if the signal was hitting something at the surface or just below.
Does this occur at deeper depths?
Where is your transducer mounted?
Do you have any pictures of the transducer and its mounting?..

Thanks for the comments and the help. Yes, this occurs in shallow or deep water. It is always almost solid down to 5 feet so when I get in shallow water I can't see anything. Here is another snapshot at a deeper depth.

My transducer is mounted on the left side of big motor. I have a G3 1860 aluminum boat. I don't have any pictures of the mount but I can get some later on.
Below is another side image shot when I was running the big motor. The interference is not that bad in this picture.

The interference is not as noticeable in the last picture due to the menu settings you were using for the Si Range and Si Colors (and possibly Si Enhance as well).
Although you may think that these are both caused by the same thing they could be caused by two separate things with each type of sonar having its own cause.
For the 2D sonar I would start by checking the Beam Select menu setting. Try setting it to the 200kHz setting and see if some of this clears up. If it does than switch this menu back to whatever you had it previously set on and try adjusting the Surface Clutter menu as this is what I believe it is you are seeing (surface clutter).
For the Si sonar try setting the Si Range to 10 ro 20 feet and you should really be able to see this “interference”. Next, see if that interference is still present when the boat is drifting with the motor off. If it is still there try trimming the motor all the way up. Let us know the results from this.
