Please can anyone tell me where to find the NMEA in om the 997 for showing AIS on the map.

I'm not sure if the AIS will work with the 997, but we had a discussion going on about AIS and 1197s some time ago, so check here:

Yes I have already seen the tread. So far I can only se that the 1100 having both ways NMEA.

The new software for 997 says someting about AIS????

It's a big mistake that the unit does not have this option - I think it's the only one om the marked. Also it's missing NMEA2000.

Hi Martin

Unfortunately there is no AIS support on the 997, only on the 998 and the 1197/98.  Here is my post on the "other" site regarding my attempts to get it to work.

My guess is that the 997 unit does not have the hardware support to allow the input of the AIS data.  :'(

Now I am angling for a new 1198.  ;D
