I now need to tune up mt 1197 SI , as the Images were not as sharp as my 997 SI.
Any info would be great.
My 997 SI look like the pictures in the Magazines very sharp. The 1197 SI is not very sharp, I would have thought the Bigger screen would have shon more sharper images.

The bigger screen has less pixels per square inch= less resolution.
The 997 has 480 pixels in it's 4.250" screen height=112.9 pixels per inch.
The 1197 has 600 pixels in it's 6.375" screen height=94.1 pixels per inch.
The best resolution is the 798 which has 640 pixels in it's 3.625" screen height=176.5 pixels per inch.

Very True. I have been through a couple of the Humminbird seminars. They tell you your best picture of all is the 898, then the 997 with the 1197 . They all three use the same programs , software and interior componets. When you have the smaller type screens, the pixels are closer together. Hope this helps.

calli1, not quite, the 898 has 480 vertical pixels in it's 3.625" screen height = 132.4 pixels per inch.
That is less than the 798.
