I'm looking at getting this unit for running Pa rivers. I need to be able to track my position relative to the take out point. Does this unit have a mapping software capable of doing this, or must an additional map program be loaded?
Can my Navionics map SD used on my 998SI be also used on the 385?

The 385 has the same GPS capabilities as your 998 but is more limited in the types of Navionics Map cards that it can use (it cannot use the Platinum mapping cards). Download the operations manual from Humminbird and see for yourself.
