Was wondering if they make a 1 or 2 k ducer for deeper water to run in conjuction with my unit. I know it wont work with the side imaging but would like to switch to it when Im in deeper water, like 300+

nice but does not work with the 797 c2si

You have to have a unit capable of the output that the transducer can transmit. Maybe the 797 does not. The specs state a depth capabilily of 1,500 feet which is a lot more than the 300'+ you mentioned. Evidently the 83 khz and maybe the 200 khz has the 1,500' depth capability with the power of the 797.
The larger units like the 997 state a depth capability of 1,500 feet and with the 200/50 khz transducer, a depth capability of 3,000 feet. The 1kw transducer is the only one I see listed that has 200/50 khz. The 50 khz is for the deepest capability.

The XTH-9-DB-35-KW-T transducer will work with the 797 but not in the manner that you may want it to. The 200kHz of the 797 will work with this transducer but I don’t think that it would work any deeper than the standard Compact Side Imaging transducer will. The 2KW power rating for this transducer is available only at the lower 50kHz frequency. So you would be spending more money on a transducer that would not give you any deeper depth readings.
Having said that; the standard Compact Side Imaging transducer should work down to 1,500 feet using the 83kHz frequency and well past 300 feet using the 200kHz frequency.
