how do I go about getting the DI software from Humminbird?,..............

Both of those unit already should have DI.  Are your units registered with HB?  If so, you can download the latest version of software for each unit.  In addition, you also can download software from this site.  Hope this helps...

The 1197 may not have the Di software in it but I think that all of the 998 units that we shipped had the Di software in them.  What version software in both of your units?

Have you tried looking in the Views menu tab to see if the Down Imaging View is listed?  Make sure that if it is listed that it is not se to be Hidden.
