Title: si on bow/trolling motor, will it work?

I am planning on mounting a si unit on the consol', my question is, should i also mount a si unit on the bow?,I have read all the posts I can find on this subject',& I get a mess of mixed opinions',is it worth it ?.......

Since I don't have a trolling motor, I will yield to the opinions of those who do.  But from what I have read and images I have seen, it does work.  Some guys prefer to use the main (dash) console with SI to find the structure and then put a traditional depth finder with gps on the bow to navigate to the waypoints and fish by.  And some guys use the SI while trolling from the bow and swear by it also.  To each his own. ;)

I know that didn't really help much, did it!

YES, I saw these bass yesterday as I was fishing an electric only lake and had my 798 on the bow. I caught two of them. Copy the snap shot to your computer and enlarge it for a better view of what the fish looked like.

It actually works better than I thought it would.  Nearly all the images I posted on this site are from the trolling motor and is the position I use the unit 95% of the time.  The side scan up front has been a valuable tool.

The only draw back for the trolling motor is when you turn it.  It makes the image jump and put a distinct line there.

My thoughts exactly. What I thought it would do, it did well.  What I was truly impressed with, was its ability to look 90 degrees to a drift (walleyes).  If I wouldve had a cameraman with me one day on Lake  Francis Case this spring who knows how many units that video wouldve sold.  It was incredible, to say the least.

Putting an SI transducer on the trolling motor has a few benefits, Down Imaging works great,  sometimes in SI mode I turn the TM speed to zero and slowly swing the TM to see what is in the area.
