Hi guys and Thanks for all the assistance everyone has been as I have been lurking around a bit.
We have a newly purchased 1197 that will be used for search and rescue or specifically for body recovery.
We have a rescue one boat that is alum construction and has an inset motor. Im going to try to attach pictures to show everyone what I am trying to explain.
We do not have a jack plate and I am concerned about clearance issues between the motor and the boat as well as turbulance blocking our si views.
Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the rear of the motor at the cavitation plate level is forward of the sponsons so either aft side of the hull could be used as a location for the SI transducer.

Since the "back" of the boat is beyond the motor drive you could get cavitation from the prop especially as you increase speed. Possibly port or starboard interference depending on the side of the boat you mount.
Something to consider is to have the transducer on a verticle shaft that can lower the transducer below the prop level. this means keeping the boat speed slow so that if yo hit an obstruction you dont damage the ducer. Optionally you could use a trolling motor shaft and a Johnny Ray mount that will allow the transducer to flip up if enounters an obstruction.
