Title: .gpx Waypoint list import on 997?
Post by: redheelerdog on July 11, 2010, 04:47:43 PM
Can I copy a .gpx file (created in another program) onto my SD card and my Humminbird 997c SI will recognize the waypoints and plot them on the screen with the names I have given them?

I use a software that can create waypoints, name them, and export the list as a .gpx file.

I would like to be able to import previously created waypoint lists (.gpx files) created on a desktop PC software into my HB 997, is this possible? I realize that waypoints can be entered individually and manually into the 997, but that seems to be the long way to do it.

Thanks in advance.   :)

You will need to use Humminbird PC or some other 3rd party software that will convert the gpx file to Humminbird format.  Then the unit will recognize the file and import the waypoints.

Hope that helps.
