Post by: RGecy on July 06, 2010, 11:29:46 AM: I searched around have not seen one piece of literature or spec that gives the weight of the unit. Why do you ask? Do you need a very specific weight, down to the ounce? Just the head unit only? Or with mount?

I would say it weighs around 1.5 to 2 pounds. Maybe someone can stick it on a scale for us and let us know eaxctly since the only 700 series I have is a 785c.

Lets see.....
A cubic foot of water weighs 64 pounds. A cubic foot is 1768 cubic inches.
The unit is 232.8 cubic inches.
that means the unit could displace 6 pounds and still float.
Since it rides high in the water (while floating) it is probably less than 6 pounds.
I like Roberts answer of 2 pounds or less.
maybe I should have gone to work this morning.

I have since learned that a good reporter can ask a dozen questions for each of the 6 mentions.
I would guess that if you are interested then these 6 simple questions can ask for a lot of valuable information.

I also have learned that there is no such thing as a dumb question.
However dumb answers seem to prevail at times. .... ;)

Post by: Kurlee on August 08, 2010, 12:00:41 PM: Too much for the mount that comes with it. Unless the water is smooth (very rarely around here) I have to hold mine too keep it from ratcheting back and forth.
