Title: Software Update v4.950 Released for 997c Units
Post by: RGecy on June 10, 2010, 10:20:15 PM: Humminbird has released the v4.950 update for the 997c. You can find the update in the Downloads (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=downloads;cat=1) Section here on the forum or on the Humminbird.com website.

Description:
6/10/2010 12:00:00 AM - v4.950 This release provides improved sonar performance at shallow depths. Fixes operational issues related to the 2010 version of Navionics Platinum charts Fixes course-up operation with Lakemaster charts.

The updates have been released for testing, but Humminbird will not release them to the public until they are satisfied with the results of the testing.

Best guess is any day now!

Post by: stillbear on June 11, 2010, 05:07:32 PM: Robert i had a terrible time this morning putting the new update in my 997 i used a brand new 2 gig card put the update on my card that went good reset my defauts put card in the unit said update was sucessful but it just keep blinking saying it was loading after 30 mins. i shut it down.
so i took AND DONE THE BOOTSTRAP NUMBER took awhile but i got it.GARY

Post by: jejb on June 11, 2010, 08:49:25 PM: Loaded up like a charm on my 997 this morning. But I forgot to test the shallow water operation while fishing today. Worked fine otherwise.
