I just returned from Lake Ouachita after using the new installation of the 788 ci and 898 si. The units are interlinked. The transducer of the 788 is on my trolling motor and the the two transducers for the 898 are external. The 2d is on the transom and the si is mounted on my jackplate. Everything worked great except I did have intermittent shallow water problems with both units. The 788 sometimes would lose the bottom at 5 ft and the 898 sometimes
would lose the bottom at 10 ft. Other times they would work just fine. Hopefully there is a fix coming soon. I do not know why they worked part of the time. Any thoughts? :)
The SI images were awesome. I will post some images soon.
The bass fishing was great.... nothing big... but I did break off a 5 lber... I knew I should have retied. The last day we had to share water with the pros. FLW is hosting a tournament on the lake...I saw about 10 pros practicing in our area of the lake and almost every pro had a HB si unit .
One question...what are the most popular screens for the preset buttons?
-
Hi Razorback not sure about popular but here is what i use for presets.
view Sonar
preset #1 SI
Exit SI-S-DI
view DI-SI
preset #2 DI
Exit SI-chart
View GPS
preset#3 Snapshot & Recording
Exit Sonar-DI
This works for me I have 9 windows with 3 buttons. Gary

Thanks Stillbear.... I guess in lieu of popular...I should have asked what gives you the best options.. I like your setting and will use them.

Good Ideas Stillbear
Using your concept I now use the following on my 798ci SI
view Snapshot & Recording
preset #1 Sonar
Exit SIde-Im
view DI
preset #2 SI-chart
Exit GPS
View DI-SI-Sonar
preset #3 DI-Sonar
Exit SI
This works for me I have 9 windows with 3 buttons. Terry0540

Please explain how to get "three views" on each preset button. You mention view, preset # x and exit. Sorry, I don't follow what you are doing. Thanks.

From each pre-set view you select, you can then go to the "view" button or the "exit" button and the views will either advance or backup 1 view from the "pre-set" selection. I had to hide the views that I seldom use to get the 9 views that I use the most.
