Title: 898 on order
Post by: RzorbackAngler on May 14, 2010, 06:32:24 PM
:) I just ordered a new 898c si for the console on my bass.  I will interlink to the 788ci  on the bow.  I am going with 2 transducers.  I will be at the lake on Wednesday for 5 days of bass fishing.  Any tips on what is best way to learn the units.  I figured that I would go to some on my known spots and start scanning.

By the way does the 898 have the shallow water problem?

The best way to learn is to use it.  both in demo and simulation mode.  Fishing can get in the way for new users.  However 5 days and you should be a pro.  Let us know how the 5 days went.

Mine doesn't.

Congrats on the new unit. It won't take very long operating it and you'll be giddy as a school girl on candy!  ;D

I myself have done tons of studiying.  This forum for one is a great tool.  Read your manual.....very important!!

Then...use it , use it, use it.  The only way to learn is turn the 898 on and have at it....you will love it!!
