Title: Zero length dat file
Post by: TMcG on May 07, 2010, 06:36:56 PM
Had recording on for the 1st time this afternoon and I thought it all worked, I have .son & .idx files in the sub-directory but the main level dat file, R00001.dat, is zero bytes.

Time to have another go ?  Anyway it can be reconstructed ?

Humviewer just sits at "Loading....."

thanks

Did you power off the unit without stopping the recording?

It can be fixed, but are you sure the other files are fully intact also.  Most of the time when this happens, the .son files are also corrupted.

If you want to send them to me, I can take a look at them and reconstruct if possible.

Good Luck,

Robert

Thanks Rob,

I probably didn't, newbie error, and they were really only the initial cruise around recording but there should have been some nice images of dock pilings etc, looked that way as I cruised by anyway.

I'll send them over, directory size is 183Mb, so ftp ? upload ?

Please don't spend a lot of effort if they're toasted, I can make some more today and remember to stop recording before powering off !!  :)

Oh yeah, thats a big one.  It may be too big for HumViewer.

Use www.TransferBigFiles.com (http://transferbigfiles.com/) and send me the link.
