Title: problems with the depth
Post by: sharker807 on May 04, 2010, 11:35:00 AM
Hi all, just having trouble with the depth, when i go over about 80ft the dark area of the screen gets to big, i've tried to adjust the si range but it just makes it fade, it works fine in shallow water, it's not the detail it's the gap.the bottom just moves to wide on the screen. Please help

You may want to adjust the contrast and brightness.
Sensitivity is another thought.
If you are in 80 foot of depth then the si distance shoude be 200 feet or more.

Could you post a snapshot of what you are talking about.

It's already on the Hb wishlist to be able to turn off  the water column on the screen...so that it doesn't take up so much of the screen in deeper water....

As for now, do as the other guys suggest and set your range to about 150-200....

If you can't get enough brighness by turning the sensitivity up to 20, change your Si sonar to the 455kHz beam, and then adjust the sensitivity to the brightness that suits you....   much brighter but not as much detail
