Title: Best Overall Settings
Post by: calli1 on April 23, 2010, 08:45:50 AM
I guess my question(s) are on the H B 898 or any sie image....what are the best settings for these units.

For example...sensitivity setting, how far out is the best range on the side scan, scan speed....etc.

What do you consider them best settings.  I plan to have mine back out on the water and running test.

Thank You....

Set the side scan distance about twice to three times the depth. then adjust as you see necessary.  If you are scanning changing depths you may have to keep changing the distance. A pain but it helps with the display.
Screen scroll speed is  usually matched to the speed of the boat.

SI is best at 2 to 4 MPH so your screen speed should be the same.

Sensitivity is your call for the best display.  You can adjust contrast and brightness also.

SI is a learning and a trial and error method for the good results.

Show us some picture as you practice.
