Title: Humminbird PC and the 1197

Will HumminbirdPC work with the PC cable and a 1197c SI?   Which port on the 1197c do you use?  The accessory bus port grouped with the power, GPS and transducer or the Communication port grouped with the video out?

Yes the HumminbirdPC program and PC Connect cable will work with the 1197 unit but you had best figure out another way of powering the unit as the supplied power cable and its batteries will not power the 1197 for long.

You would connect it to the accessory bus located on the same side as the power and transducer.

I have the unit powered with a 1500ma 12v transformer. 

I noticed in the instructions for the Matrix that a 'PC Connect' menu item comes up on the 'mode' select screen to select the serial connection.  Does this apply to the 1197 also?  Is it necessary to use the 'Y' cable to make the connection or do you connect the PC cable direct to the unit?

I wouldn’t read those instructions too close TE.  They were originally written for the first version of HumminbirdPC and so will not match what you are using now.  Hopefully they will get some new instructions written.  All you should have to do is start HumminbirdPC, than plug in and start your unit and it should automatically go into the PC Connect mode.

Just plug the 1197 directly to the PC Connect cable.
