last we i perform some records with my helix 10 for archaeological surveys
unfortulatly the SI recorded stopped after around 20" when the depth was recorded during all the session :(
after tests in a tray, it seems that inverting sd recording card with autochart card in their slots solve the problem :)
autochart card in the left slot
don't ask me why
-
i continued and asked me why
the test in atray was not representative because the geographic position was constant and finally the position if the sd card has no importance
after real tests in a river i think that if the speed is too hight and/or the way is not enough straight, the helix consider that the the si result is not valid and stop it's record
but
a long time ago, i recorder successfully a long way with many forward and backward at 2 m/s
but the record of an other straight way at also 2 m/s failed
so the problem is not solved
deos somebody has this problem ?

I’m sure the “straightness” of the boat track during recording should have no effect on the recording feasibility ...
I have successfully recorded entire tracks around and following irregular shoreline while navigating the boat at a constant distance from the shoreline ...

i think your are right there is no reason of si non recording
i will test again after holidays
