Title: reinit records number

hello
i have an helix 10x chirp megasi + gps g4n
i record data who are named automatically Rx.dat (x writen with 5 figures) increasing by 1 at each new record
how to reinit to restart at 1 ?
and more : is it possible to change the name of the recordings ex : "seine-x.dat" where x will be a sequential number automaticaly created ?

It’s been a long time since I played with the .dat files but I think as long as the “.dat” extension is in tact - the first 5 characters can be changed  ...

To verify without compromising the original Rxxxx.dat file you might create a copy of the file and test with character editing of the first five characters before the “.dat”  ...

i tested by changing R00072.dat with aaaaa.dat it works
in the .dat there is "Á y  ˜       `  f®"™ µQ ]ßÔR00072.SON   ‡¬ ¬  V    \ "
where R00072.SON is the link to the directory named R00072 including the B001, 2,3,4 .SON
i tested by replacing R00072 by bbbbbb and it works also
then it is possible to rename a posteriori

but in fact i wish that the reinit and the customizing of the name takes place directly in the helix

I don’t think Humminbird ever expected the masses to even have access to the recording files (and the reason Humminbird never created a way to view recordings other than on the unit itself) ...
