I just get info from HB support regard Helix Series about Color By Depth function.
They told me:
"... The Helix units only have the option to change the color of the track, but not by depth. This option was not brought forward from the older units to the newer units. ..."
However, there was so much confusion in that communication, I will be really happy if someone can confirm this by actually looking on his unit.
If it is really true. It is very sad how humminbird understand evolution and improvement. There was demand for improving color scale for this, and they not bother to even keep it, not to mention improve it.
I got bead feeling it was intentional killing of third parties mapping SW.
Devolution :(

I believe HB is correct that it is gone ...

Are you talking about this feature of coloring the track depending on the depth?

Both, it is the same feature as I understand it. Under track color, you can select Color by depth and the color range allow you to set the range of depths for the color. In other words, how deep is the full dark color.

Sorry, I don't quite understand. In the track color section, only the color distance of the active track is set.
You write<< Color by Depth>>. Where exactly is this menu? I can't find it in my Menu 698c.
Wow, someone didn’t like creating their own maps using colored tracks and Autochart Live function, it became scary.
Do you have a photo of what the color tracks ended up looking like in depth?

Here is info from the manual ...

And the menus in the core unit ...

I experimented in simulator but it’s not a valid representation because there is very little depth change in the simulator recording to see the effect of color changing in the Current track ...

Something like this. It is an unfinished map. Color by depth are those green lines.
You can find more about that here:http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=6040.0 (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=6040.0)
