Does anyone know what my cause the down imaging view to not work properly. Anytime I switch to it, it will show the bottom (matched to what traditional view looks like), but as soon as the scrolling starts the whole view turns to the same blue that is the bottom marking, after the screen fills with that, then it clears up, shows the bottom contour (whole screen) and then scrolls all blue again (same as what the bottom should look like). SI seems to work ok, as well as traditional Sonar view. bought Model 798ci si, downloaded/installed upgrade two weeks ago.

ntreder,
Any chance that you can post an image of what you are seeing on your unit?
How does the Si sonar look when this is happening on the Di sonar?
Any chance that you have the 2D Zoom View set to Bottom Lock setting?

Can you make a recording of this. then we can see if you can send it. Chuck

sorry too new to know how to get pics and vids...I have empty card in unit, but haven't found where to take shots yet. You know I had turned bottom lock on the first time I used the unit...will it save that setting? I can make sure it is off next time also.

Screen Snapshots are easy: install an SD card in the unit. Press the MENU button twice and scroll over to the Accessories menu tab. Scroll down to the Screen Snapshot menu and set it to “On”. Now when you use the MARK button to create a waypoint the unit will also save a snapshot of whatever the unit’s display is showing to the SD card. You can make screen snapshots of the sonar (2D, Si, or Di), the map or any combination View that you would like to.
Yes the unit will remember most of the settings when they are changed – depending on what mode it is running in at the time the menu was changed.

thanks, I'll try turning off BL and if that doesn't work, I'll take pics/vid and post it back. Thanks again!

Also set the unit to advanced mode to take advantage of other settings and feature that may help with this. Chuck

Here are two screen shots, in one you can see that the "normal" DI view was there when I switched to that view, but then as it scrolls the view changes. I changed the unit to advanced mode, (forgot to turn off bottom lock though). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Try turning off the Bottom Lock feature.
