An interesting idea, Per Pelin also decrypted the Ethernet protocol at the time and used it for the live functions in the DrDepth software.

I would like to hear if you have already managed to link your humminbird with a device other than a humminbird. I have the same interests to realize this because I think buying a 2nd humminbid device is a bit crazy for just duplicating the screen.

I've been working on a similar app and just found this thread.  Amazing!

I haven't yet managed to get the live data stream from my 998, but I have been successful at some basic SLP communication with it and converting recorded .SON files to images. The detail in the .SON file is incredible when it isn't limited to the display on the unit.

Hi Oschi

Have you tapped the Ethernet with your own software and why is the image on the additional monitor upside down?
Do you still have a computer between the HB unit and the monitor and would you make the software available to everyone here?

Has there been any further development on this. Very interested in decoding the HB ethernet protocol so I can incorporate imaging in a hobby ROV I'm building.
