Folks...still waiting on my 898 SI unit to arrive. While doing so, I come up with a question each day from reading my online manual.
My question is...I have read somewhere that a "Y" cable comes in the box with the unit...is this true or not?
I already have one that has come in...but I plan to use 2 transducers...one for the 2D and the SI transducer. I also have the Weather Sense and XM Weather.
Also, how wide is the entire unit with the bracket/unit in place? I have limited space behind my windshield area....a area I plan to mount my unit.
My last question on this post is How Do I Take My Waypoints Marked on My 787c2i and transfer to my new 898?

There are several different Y cables made by Humminbird. The one that comes in the box is the AS YC NMEA/Com Advanced Accessory Y cable used for adding adding accessories to the unit along with GPS. This is what you will connect your Weather Sense and XM Weather to.
It cannot be used for adding additional transducers. The AS SIDB Y is what you will need for the 2d and SI transdcuers.

Calli,
you care share the waypoints on both units via Interlink if you like to use both units on your boat:

I'm not familiar with the 787s. Is there a SD card slot where you can put a blank SD card in and can you transfer your Navigation Data to the SD card?
If yes, just transfer the Nav.-Data to your SD card and slide the SD card in the SD card slot of your 898. The unit will recognize the waypoints and transfer them to your 898.
As for the unit size:
The specs are listed on HB's website here:

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone for the info.
I already have had the "Y" cable shipped to me for the Two ( 2 ) transducers and so it sounds like the "Y" cable coming in the box is all I will need.
Thanks and get ready because I will probably have tons of questions once my uinit is mounted and ready.
