Title: Screen Protector
Post by: Deltaden on April 07, 2010, 10:05:15 AM
How many of you on these forums have found the need to purchase a screen protector?  Do you think the Humminbird screen is susceptible to water stains, etc?  What brand to you prefer.  I notice NuShield product does not list the new 898.  I would prefer to have one precut to match the product.  Thanks for all tips and replies.

I don't know if it "needs" one, but considering how cheap they are, it seems well worth it to protect my investment. I use the Zagg Shield's on both of my HB's, and cell phones, and GPS's. Great product. Tough as nails and super clear.

I have one on my 997c that I found on ebay for around $12.  Yes they are prone to water spots.  Better safe than sorry.

I agree with Robert, better safe then sorry.  I installed a screen saver on my system after the first month. cleaning the screen from water spots is choir which cannot be taken lightly, because you can ruin the coating.

I purchased a Zagg saver, not sure if I would spend the extra bucks for it.
