I am installing my 1197 and a lowrance flasher on the back of my boat. I have been told the two will interfere with each other. Can the 2 units both run without interference? I need to have my flasher on when back trolling so I wanted to know the best approach for flawless images.

As long as you dont have any frequencies that are the same you should be ok. Not sure of the flasher freq but check your document and compare to the HB transducer. chuck

the flasher is 200 khz

I run a Lowrance unit with 200 mhz on one side, and a HB 797 on the other with minimal interference; more noticeable when on SI, actually. I set the noise filter on the HB to low and it usually eliminates the interference. If I happen to need to eliminate all interference temporarily, I just stop the chart on the Lowrance until I need it again. Adjusting the ping rate on the Lowrance will help, too.

You can turn off the humminbird 2d transducer thats the 83/200. it is an option on your sonar menu. chuck

Turning off the Sonar in the Humminbird will turn off all sonar in the unit Chuck – both the 2D frequencies (200/83kHz) and the Si frequencies (455/800kHz).
If you start showing interference on the 1197 try turning on and up the Noise Filter menu as Blackwaterkatz suggested. No guarantees that this will work well enough, if you will need it at all or if all of the interference will show up on the flasher. When running two sonar units at the same frequency sonar-to-sonar interference is always a possibility.
