Title: Short tether towfish deployment.
Post by: Drifter on April 03, 2010, 07:20:52 AM
I ran my first trip of the year and got to pull the second version the Razorfish II running as a short tether transducer deployment system. I'll put the PVC boom on the bow in calm conditions now that I've checked the towfish for running true. That will have the towfish running about four feet deep - just in front of the boat - at 3 to 4 miles per hour. The two pound down rigger ball will be used on a side tow configuration in rougher water.

See pictures 012 - 013 - 014 - and the HumViewer Snapshot - 019 here ====>(http://photos.imageevent.com/limbatus/2010/ck20100401/a-thumbs.jpg) (http://photos.imageevent.com/limbatus/2010/ck20100401/a-thumbs.html)

PS ~~~ It's probably old news to experienced user's, but scanning while running perpendicular to a strong current can produce some very misleading visual representations.
