Title: Helix 7 Chirp SI GPS G2 - GPS not connected

Hi all, 2yo unit, GPS not connected message started about 2 months ago and been consistent ever since. Upgraded software to 2.320 (and base map version upgrade), reset to defaults, tried on 13.5v power source ... a $250 fixing fee that is not guaranteed is a bit of an ask ... would buying an external antenna ($140) solve the error - for my kayak so would really like to avoid going the external route if possible. Options, thoughts and other things to try? Appreciated

If the internal GPS is failing it is possible to connect an external GPS - but it’s not a direct connection  ...

Bit the bullet and sent it into Johnson (along with the payment) ... pleasantly surprised when 10 days after mailing the problem unit, UPS have just dropped off a replacement unit (and transducer as the replacement was a generation upgrade). Happy with the outcome ... although a 1 year warranty for a $600 item seems a bit on the risk adverse side from them ... however, I knew that when originally buying, so all fair. Painless exercise all round tbf.
