Title: 998 won't connect to gps etc.
Post by: 6speedy3 on April 22, 2020, 05:45:52 PM: Hi, I brought my 998 in the house last winter and used in simulator mode to learn and relearn stuff. I have put it back in the boat and now it won't hook up to gps, sonar etc only thing it shows working is the temperature. Any thoughts as to what is going on what the fix might be. Thanks in advnance.

The unit will not show Chart views, Chart menus, or Nav menus until it connects to the orbiting satellites (in Normal operating mode) ...

If that doesn’t work - do you know anyone with a HB unit you can test on your xducer and GPS antenna?

Post by: hoselrocket on June 02, 2020, 11:00:22 PM: I have a 997C SI that just lost the GPS and chart this spring after being stored all winter. The unit wont connect to GPS but the sounder works.

Post by: 6speedy3 on June 02, 2020, 11:08:31 PM: The AS GR50 module is bad on mine. I have two 998's both units work fine of the gps module on the bow. I have ordered a AS GRP Precision module.
