This is my first post and I think this is a great idea, I don't have a unit yet but my 1197c SI is on order from J and H Products. I will be ordering a shirt or 2 when they become available.

Its going to be an awesome t-shirt Robert, can't wait to buy one. Have you all thought of using a
Down Image shot instead of a SI for ease of looking at the bottom image on the shirt? I am going out
the next two days and will record some cool shots to enter the contest.

Here is one of mine.  I haven't decided on the 2nd one just yet.  I figure it's gotta look good on the T shirt as part of the requirement...

Robert,  Thats what I was thinking but if you get a good pic with DI you split the tree with SI??  That don't look good for shirt purposes??  I do have it in DI and sonar tho.  I was trying to think of a way to get that 3 way to work but it might be too small doing 3 way especially since SI splits the tree?

Man you are making it hard limiting it to 2 images....

Here's a couple I like that show what Humminbird can do for you.

I have extended the contest to April 15th to allow some of our Northern members to possibly get in some images, since they are still thawing out from the winter freeze.  I know this will not appease everyone, but its a more realistic deadline.

I like the picts so far, keep them coming!

Ok guys (and gals).  I was expecting a flood of images to be posted for the T-Shirt Image contest, but it is looking pretty slim right now!

If we dont get some more entries I will just have to let the Lowrance guys start posting their images!   ::) ::)

Hardest part is selecting two images. I'll post the link again on some of the sites I help to spread the word. I'm ready to wear my T-Shirts...Let see some images... To many good ones I've seen that everyone should post an image. Let's make Robert and crew work trying to decide!

I think I am beating myself up over this more than Robert is LOL.  I'm holding onto my last entry thinking I will find something better.  I think most guys are sandbagging LOL.

I'll be on the water again tomorrow.  Unfortunately the small lake I fish has boring structure. I am looking forward to getting my jetboat on the Missouri river which is going to produce some nice pics with my 1197 whenever it gets here and probably won't until after next week :(

To enter the contest you just have to post your two favorite HB SI snapshots here in this thread. Easy as that  ;)!

Title: Northern Exposure Pics from Finland
Post by: JHartikka on April 14, 2010, 05:31:31 AM
14.4.2010

Hi, and thanks for informing about the interesting contest! I got a 797 C2 SI unit last spring and spent all the last summer fair weather days recording waters this far familiar to me only from above surface. Because mine is one of the first handy SI units in this corner of world it has aroused interest among local fishermen. I have had to make many introduction rides with my boat to show how their favorite fishing sites look like on SI screen..! :)

These contest images are captured from an ordinary small outboard boat I drag with a trailer to those lakes and rivers that have a boat harbor or at least a road to shore.

Living in a sparsely populated country of tens of thousands of lakes, many of which are accessible only by narrow footpaths, I built a set of portable side imaging gear using a Canadian style canoe. I added to it oars and a direction stabilizing fin to eliminate any tendency of SI imaging impairing bow swing. Because also ignition noise is absent, the canoe SI recordings really are of quite good quality!

Here are my two SI contest snapshots:

[attachment=1]

S00405 Side image view from under bridge shows clearly the tracks of chains of weighs keeping underwater pipelines in bottom. Bridge of Kasama, Finland. J. Hartikka, 797c2 SI.

[attachment=2]
S00539. Fishes in SI view together with a zoom of scattered remains of a Russian SB-2 bomber that was during war 1941 - 44 shot down to Lake Pyhaselka, Niittylahti, Joensuu, Finland. There are remains of other planes down there, too, because city of Joensuu was one of their regular targets. J. Hartikka, 797c2 SI.

Just for curiosity and of course outside of this contest a photo of my side imaging row canoe with battery operated SI gear:

Also for curiosity, a down image view of swarms of fish near the same site as the above SB-2 bomber snapshot:

The first picture is definately a lure collector for expensive lures. Lure manufactures build these and place them in strategic lake  locations to "grab" your lure so that you will have to purchase another one.  It is simply a marketing ploy.  ( I am kidding)

That is a good picture (thanks to the sonar) and certainly interesting.  If you have any divers,  see if they would like to check it  out for you (and us).  Or maybe a drop camera.

good work   let us know.

Hopefully not too late to get an entry in.   Here is a SI of a small wreck located during 2009.  The bell below was raised 16th December on a day when the snow was falling and the sea was 6C.

Thanks for all the image submissions.  I am glad to see the new guys posting some images as well as the veterans!

Maybe we can make this a monthly contest.  Humminbird was doing this for a while, but stopped.

Thanks again for all the submissions.  I will announce the winner on Sunday!
