If you could choose between XP and 7 to use for HB PC, the different viewers, and Google Earth,
which would you choose?

I have seen a post noting a problem with Win7 Pro 64 bit version.....have to trick it into running in 32 bit mode. I have Win7 Pro 32bit and no problems so far.

Windows 7 allows you to run programs in Windows XP compatibility mode if required. Just right click on the shortcut and go to the compatibility tab.

Thanks for the replies.
Going to buy another iMac with Snow Leopard or Lion OS.
Need to add XP or 7 to use programs for HB.
Have access to both.
Benamen.... that's what I was looking for.
Bob B.... I think the copy of 7 is 64 bit.
many times you don't know, what you don't know

Windows 7 comes in a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version. Note: the 64 bit version runs programs in either 64 bit or 32 bit.
I went with Windows 7 Home 64 bit pre installed on my new computer. I have not tried to run the Humminbird Software yet with this computer.
One thing to remember when using Windows 7 64 bit version is that there are two different program directories. One is for 64 bit only programs and the other is for 32 bit programs. Go to your C:\ drive and check out the difference between these two.
Program Files (x86) is for 32 bit program files. Program Files is for the 64 bit programs. When you install a new program on your Windows 7 64 bit OS you must make sure that the program files are installed in the proper directory.
