Have taken some snapshots on my 898 si but cant get them viewable even after loading Humviewer. When you look at the SD files they are nothing like I've seen before. I have Windows Vista (sorry). Im sure this question has been asked before but cant seem to find a solution. Help please

I have Windows Vista also and have no problem viewing the screen shots.
I just put the SD card in the computer card reader slot and then close the Auto Play panel that pops up asking what to do with the reader information. I then click on "computer" and select the SD card drive. After that I select the "Snapshot" file and the pictures are shown. Double click on one of them and it goes full screen, you can scroll thru them with the controls at the bottom of the picture.

I dont get an autoload window when the sd card is put in but I can go to "computer" and select "sd". No option comes up for "snapshot" and the contents of the sd look more like Egyptian hieroglyphics. There are no files (as such) that have any DOS suffix. Thats what puzzles me. Snapshots taken on the unit showed that they were created and you can see them on the unit while its on. ???

What size SD card do you have?
If you have greater than a 2gb you will need an SDHC compatible card reader to open it up. That may or may not be your issue, but the first thing I would check.

Prob. should have read a little further into card size. I used a plain 'ol 128mb card. Didnt realize the files/size would require something as bis as 2gb. Since posting this I have aquired a 4gb SDHC card. Do I need a seperate card reader for these files or will this laptop open them? Also, now that I have the larger card can I still transer those snapshots to the new card from the unit? I got some good pics and I would still like to view them on the PC.

Sorry for the quality of the pic. These are the files on the sd card I mentioned. I've never seen this. Im sure that there has to be a readable file but Im guessin these aren't.

What language is that? It certainly is not English.
My file names on the SD card for each folder are in English.

I would suggest reformatting the card and then try again to take snapshots...
Here's a free formatting app....
