Hello everyone, I have recently been experiencing some issues with my 998c displaying 2-D sonar and down imaging. It just started to do this, but randomly throughout the day the down imaging and 2-D will stop reading/displaying on the screen. It will be working 100% fine and out of nowhere it will show a blank screen on both DI and 2D and read 1.6ft exactly when i know for sure its much deeper. Oddly enough side imaging works fine all the time. I am thinking there may be a connection issue but has anyone ever experienced this? If it helps, they both stop reading/displaying at the same time so it must be the same issue. To make it more strange, it will randomly start working again like it never happened. Ideas? thanks in advance!!!!

I don't know what might cause these symptoms, but my first step in trouble shooting would be to attach your head unit to a different (similar) transducer.
If the problem continues, the head would be the likely problem. If it works properly, the transducer may be failing. Another way would be to attach a known good head unit to your transducer.

In addition to Mike's suggestions ...
Try bending the pins slightly to see if there may be a bad connection ...
