I bought a boat with these 2 units 798 @ helm and 597 @ bow. When I turn the 798 on it still shows the previous owners name address etc. i have restored defaults on the unit and entered my information on my sd card using the humminbird pc software. Also i have downloaded the latest software to my sd card. when i put the sd card in and turn the unit on it still has his information and it says the latest software is already installed. How do get the unit to show my info and not the previous owners??

Welcome to the Side Imaging Forums jpc526 (first time poster!), sorry that you are having problems changing the personalized text on your unit. It sounds like you are doing this correctly. Maybe you should try performing a read/write function from/to the SD card. Try making a Screen Snapshot and viewing it on the units and see if that changes anything.
After you have done this if it still does not change; view the Profile.txt file from the SD card on your computer and see if it includes the screen changes that you made or not.
