Does the 798 HD model need ethernet adapter cable?
« on: March 05, 2014, 08:26:12 PM »
Hey guys just wondering, does the 798 have the round ethernet connection or does it need a special adaptor cable? I was under the impression that the HD models had the ethernet hookup, and the non-HD needed the conversion cable.  This cable?  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Humminbird-Ethernet-Cable-AS-EC-QDM-720074-1-/131110530450?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e86cbed92&vxp=mtr

Just for clarification for others that may be reading this thread...

The NON-HD 798 is not Ethernet compatible in any way... with any cable...(it can use the Interlink..)

The 798c HD SI Combo is both Ethernet compatible and Interlink compatible...
