Topic: Autochart Work Around for Older Models?????

It supposed to allow you to have autocharts on older units that don't have an update available. I have an older 798 ci si and purchased this program. I called with a question about the software and was told that this would not work anymore with older units. I haven't been able to try it on my fish finder yet but has anyone successfully gotten this work around to work? Why would they put this on their website and then it not work? I am confused if I should try to take the program back or what. I really doubt that bass pro is going to let me return this after I have opened it. Has anyone tried this?

i was not able to get it to work on 798 non hd model  ...
have posted  numerous time previously on this issue
spent numerous calls with HB support and still wasnt able to get the (workaround) fix to work on it
I ended up getting a 798HD

That's really dissapointing  since they put that instruction manual on their website and the program costs $250.  I really doubt that basspro is going to let me return the software after it has been opened.

i didnt have any sucess but i know Camohunter and a few others did...
not sure which units or software level they were working with
try doing a seacrh on the forum theres plenty more info available

You should call the Humminbird Customer Service folks about this.  I think that it will work with the HD 798 units but not the non-HD 798 units.  See what they can do for you. 1-800-633-1468
