Title: 998c and 898c software

I just bought these units off a buddy and he said they needed updated because they have version 4.830 on them if I put 6.180 on the 998c will it work for the 898c also? I am sorry I am new to this side imaging

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums pigg.

Each unit model has its own software update file that should not work with any other model.  They may have the same version number but it will be a separate file for each unit model.

thanks greg my 898 is at hummingbird in Eufaula al getting fixed hopefully I get it back by Friday LOL
