Title: Humminbird 597ci HD DI and Helix 7
Post by: flytiger on May 05, 2016, 08:48:37 AM
I am upgrading from a Humminbird 597ci HD Di to a Helix 7 SI GPS. I have noticed that both the units have the same power requirements (12V) and same plug in connection. However, when I look at the power cords, one is referenced as a PC-10 (597ci HD DI) and the new one is a PC-11 (Helix 7). In lieu of having to take the old power cord out, since it is the same connection... does anyone see a problem with using the PC-10 versus PC-11? Has anyone done this and had issues or haven't had any issues?

Thanks in advance.

- Ben

The PC 11 has a built in ferrite choke and is larger gauge wires ...

You can try the PC 10 ...

If you experience weird anomolies in the future that may be power related ... This would be the 1st thing on your list to check ...

Thank for your reply. I guess my only concern was that it would some how burn up the unit, but it seems that it is not the case and wouldnt happen. Humminbird has said that I can use the same wire. So we will give it a go and see what happens.
