Humminbird Greg Please Help

I just recieved my new 1197 off the ups truck and when i opened the box and removed the white plastic screen cover i found that the screen surround is missing.. The speaker is exposed as well as some of the buttons.. Can i get one of these from humminbird ?

How in the heck does something like this get shipped especially when these things are tested and made one by one by a person.

I don`t know. I just took it out and hooked power to the unit and found that the screen don`t light up either. I can see the image on the screen but the backlight is to dim. I checked and it is turned up to 10.

Don't waste time waiting on Greg.  You need to be on the phone with your dealer and Humminbird ASAP. They should send you one immediately!  I would insist on overnight shipping and have them pay for the return shipping on your unit!

I took the unit back out and hooked it up again and the screen lit up like it should. Can i get just the screen trim from humminbird ?

I am not sure.  I would assume it would need to assembled by a factory tech to be covered under warranty.  I would just get on the phone with them asap and get a new unit shipped to be safe!  This type of issue is not supposed to happen with the quality controls in place.

It could have also had an issue during assembly that needed to be repaired and some how made it through.  Don't waste time, they will send you a new one and you know there are no issues!
