Recording with 798c si
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:37:57 PM »
I have an 798 c si and am trying to make a recording with it. The snapshot / record in the view folder is visible. Go to the snapshot folder an I am able to make a snapshot but when I press menu button to go to record screen it goes back to the sonar screen instead of record screen like it should. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I made the snapshot/recording screen 1 of my presets...to be able to get back to it quicker...

I don't know if this is possible in your case as I only have the 1197...

You may have snapshots/recording enabled, but you also have to have the view enabled.

There is a grey/black and red screen that shows the snapshots, this is where you start recording.  While in this view, press Menu and then goto Start Recording.

Let us know if that helps.

Done what you said and finely found it one time and put it on the quick button like you. Tried to go back to it the way the book said and still could not git to it that way. Guess I was just lucky to find it the first time. Thanks Grecy for the help. Don't know why HB made it so hard to get to. They could have just put a record button on the case and we would not have to go through all this. :D

that is a good wish list list to get posted.  How simple a way to record by just pressing the button.  system set up could make the button active or inactive.  may be too late to get a button added, but in a new model......hummmmmmm would be nice. Chuck

You are correct.  Unless I have missed something it is a pain in the butt to have to scroll to the recording screen then hit menu to start recording.

I do not understand why HB has made it so difficult.  I try to stop and restart appx. on 30 minute intervals.  Which requires me to scroll thru the screens until I get to the recording screens that scroll back to the screen I want unless it is one of my short cuts (3 is not enough).

I would like to see HB at least do a system update with a menu we can stop and record regardless of the screen we are watching.
