ALL SI Models - Better Waypoint management
« on: March 05, 2012, 11:32:19 PM »
Model:
ALL SI Models
Suggested Upgrade:
Better Waypoint management
Explanation:
There's got to be some way to get a larger selection of waypoint icons....smaller is better so not to clutter up the screen.  I have a seperate unit for GPS and it's not a HB and love the ability to sit at the PC and manipulate the waypoints, icons and then download all that to the unit.  I wish HB would create software to manipulate the GPS side of the equation.

I agree with you, I would like a choice to have different size and color dots, most of the icons are too big and interfere with viewing the map.

I had an old Lowrance that allowed me to choose very small icons and I loved it.

The unit was still working very well when I donated it to the firehouse for their yard sale.

I basically use 3 icons and would like the ability to have 3 sizes - small, smaller and medium.

I use the tree icon for structure, a dot for good fishing area, and "x" for questionable area, which after several tries I will change the icon or remove it.

The problem with the current icons in a good fishing area is that they take over the map and I end up just removing a bunch out of frustration.

I also forgot to add that I'd like to just see the smaller icon on spots as well.  I don't necessarily need to know the name of the waypoint unless I move the curser over it, too.

I believe the latest updates allow you to remove (de-clutter) the waypoint names on the maps.

Yes. The decluttering makes small dots without the names and show the names when you put the cursor over the waypoint.

What I would like to see is have the ability to just place icons with no names by double pressing the MARK button and selecting the icon you want to place there. I like to place the weed icon on areas that have high weeds that your lure would hit while trolling. Also placing the rocks icon on rocky areas. There are so many more instances were you could use that feature.
